In this post, I’ve rounded up some of the very best places to visit in Nottingham. However, it probably isn’t the first city that jumps to people’s minds when they’re considering a UK city break.īut that needs to change because I can guarantee that anyone who visits Nottingham will have a fab time there! It’s such a great city, and there are so many unique things to do there. (This is my first review of the Thurland Hall).I think it comes as no surprise to anyone that I love Nottingham. The Thurland Hall is an excellent local pub and a pub well worth visiting as the atmosphere in here is excellent and it's in a great area of town and is easy to find from Lace Market tram stop it's only a few minutes walk onto Thurland street. We had just visited the Loxley and decided to go in here for a few beers.Very busy when we visited here and all the better for it since the restrictions were lifted. When we went here we had a glass of Fosters brewery lager which were served in great condition and well priced. Housed in a fantastic building with great outside seating'the inside has a traditional pub look and feel with excellent seating area's and this pub to me is a proper local boozer. The Thurland Hall is a traditional city centre pub in Nottingham that offers a decent range of beer and spirits and is one of the many pubs and bar's in this area of town. Will definitely be stopping by again next time I visit Nottingham! I think this is a great feature that adds a nice personal touch and shows the staff's enthusiasm for comics, and it's introduced me to several books I'd not heard of before. Out of curiosity I also used the 'recommend me a graphic novel' form on the shop's website before my visit, and was sent some varied and interesting suggestions, along with reviews and images. The staff member also kindly checked for me whether they had any books by a particular author, and made me aware of a new book by her that's coming out later this year. For a fairly small shop, generally very good use is made of the space, and the new books especially are presented very nicely. Though I didn't spend much time browsing it, the manga section looked good too. It was hard to choose! I was also pleased to see sections for YA and children's graphic novels, as there are some beautiful and smart titles there that definitely deserve a look. While there are plenty of Marvel and DC titles there, the real draw for me was the wide selection of independent graphic novels and European comics. I recently visited for the first time, and was very impressed by the variety of books on offer.
